Awesome little splitter
I just finished my 2 days of splitting after buying this guy. What a great idea. I’m very happy I went with the 9 tonne and not the 6. I’m sure the 6 is good but when you have larger logs that are already dry, even the 9 tonne grunts a little, but powers through them anyway. When the logs are still green it barely has to try as it goes through them like a hot knife through butter. The only downside is this thing is HEAVY! You won’t be lifting it around yourself as it weighs more than 160lbs and the wheels are really for light duty positioning only. Also make sure you use a 12 gauge extension cord if you’re using one as it needs the power. Wood management is now something I look forward to.

Excellent wood chipper
This machine was just the ticket for cleaning up the brush behind the cottage. It can easily handle branches 3” inches in diameter which was mostly the size that I had to deal with. Very reliable machine, easy to start and quite good on gas. Blade maintenance is easy to do, the blades are double sided so if needed you can flip the blades over and start fresh. I purchased an extra set of cutter blades and a counter blade as well as a spare set of belts. Since the cottage is on an island, I like to have parts on hand if needed. “Better lookin at than lookin for it” is my motto.
Ordering parts was convenient and fast through the Ducar Canada. If you’re thinking about buying a wood chipper I highly recommend this machine 👍
